Patent Analyzer: networks to capture DNA of patents
Patent Search and Patent Analysis Software
Patent Analyzer is a stand-alone tool for investigation of large text arrays, such as patents and full-text articles. The tool identifies patent information of compounds based on queries received from R&D division. The system carries out massive search in identified sites about the information of patents. Once the information is obtained, Patent Analyzer collates the patent numbers from different data sources, merges them and prepares a report to be sent back to the R&D division. Search activity is done automatically and the information is stored in the database. Based on patent number, system will then generate a report of duplicate set of both sites and unique sets of each site. The above result is then compared with the RTF document provided by the user. Identified duplicates between site search results and RTF document are eliminated. System has the administrative capability of adding, deleting and editing users/groups and supports role-based access. It reports to the application administrator, in calendar format, about the searches undertaken and their results. Reports are generated based on country (US, EP, ROW) and can be downloaded in RTF and HTML formats.
Categorizations of patents are done before storing of the patent number. For e.g. US patents, US Applications, EP patents etc. The tool picks the patent number from the database and scraps text for the patent number from the respective site before storing it in the database. Verification is done with respect to category (Each category contains different key values like abstract, assignee, inventor, background etc). If the keys are not present in the patent text, it is shown as a Verification Report. In the analysis, the user is able to allot value and a weight to each key. Once the execution starts, it checks for the value under the key lying in the patent text. The tool compares the total sensitivity with the threshold value. If total sensitivity is equal or greater to the threshold value, then the patent is relevant else it is considered irrelevant. Finally, reports are generated for both relevant and irrelevant patents
